We started off the morning with a great cooked to order breakfast at The Plaza Suites. I love this hotel. It's beautiful and it's clean and the breakfast is amazing. They have these really good Vanilla Frappucino's that I had this morning with my breakfast too. Look a
t all this food for the 4 of us and our kids did not choose anything off the cooked to order, they just pulled from the buffet. I had a vegetable omlet and Ryan had to eggs over easy with toast and bacon.
We got up at 4am to get ready and be at the airport by 5:15 for our 6:15 flight. Since my husband used to travel a lot we have a board room pass. So we just ate breakfast at the board room once we were at the aiport. They have a great seclection of pastries, yogurt, juices, teas and coffees. We landed in San Jose at 8:00.
We went and picked up our rental car and drove towards Great America and stopped by a Starbucks and got some drinks and snacks. The kids each got a Jamba Juice. We also took the time to pack some of the snacks that we had brought with us and put them in little baggies. NEXT TIME we would stop and eat a good breakfast at a restaurant so we had good energy and good food on our stomachs. It affects you when you ride roller coasters if you haven't eaten well. We got to the park right at 9:30, bought our Platium Pass tickets and waited patiently for the park to open.
The weather here in Oregon has been horrible this Spring. Nothing but rain. I have been checking the forcast for San Jose, CA it says it is going to be 85 degrees all 3 days. I can't wait for nice weather. I am not sure if I am more excited about the Roller Coasters or the warm weather. One thing for sure, we will need to drink water all day long.

Here are some of the snacks that I bought for the trip. I also packed some baggies so we can fill them and put them in pockets to have good snacks to eat.
I am almost finished finalizing the details for our Cedar Point trip that we are taking in August. I spent the day on the web checking out motels, rates, certain rooms and most importantly rental car hours.
The weather has been so bad around here I can't wait to get to San Jose and get some sun. I know it's not the southern California sun, but at this point I just don't want to be cold any more.
I had to go to San Jose for a few days to take my mom from Boise, ID to a doctors appointment. We both fly in and then I drive her around. We stayed, as always, at The Plaza Suites. It was, as always, very enjoyable. I had cooked to order scrambled eggs and bacon. My mom and sister in law had omlets. My sister in law also got some pancakes, we saw those come out fresh, so she grabbed some. Because my mom is sick they accomodated us by giving us early check in (I had called in advance) and they gave us late check out. I love the place I tell ya!!
So here we go again. This is just how these things play out.
I am not even sure where I was looking, but saw that Great America has a new ride that opens this year. We love this park, we have gone nearly every year in the last 7 years, although we missed last year. And now they have a new ride!!!! We have to go back!! I found airfare for $167 round trip from Portland.More on Alright…There is Something Wrong With Me
This is my favorite tip of all. I hate spending all the money on airfare, then on the entrance fee then wait in line for 2 hours for 1 ride. So I go online to the city where the park is and I check when they have school. Things like when spring break is, when the summer vacation starts and when they go back to school. Then you need to compare that against the park dates and hours. We have learned that our school gets out a week before the Bay Area, so we head down on the last day of school and the park is very empty. Our kids used to have a 4 day weekend in May and we started using those dates to go to parks, because no one is off the first weekend in May, so many parks were empty. The lines were so short we began keeping logs of how many times we went on certain rides. One time in May we rode the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland 13 times in 3 days. And no it never got boring.
Well it turns out we have 4 free airfare tickets that are going to expire in October. So the hunt began as to where we might fly. The bummer is during the summer months pretty much all of June, July and August are blackout dates. All except the last week of August. We started looking around at different parks, because as you know, that's what we do.
