Well it turns out we have 4 free airfare tickets that are going to expire in October. So the hunt began as to where we might fly. The bummer is during the summer months pretty much all of June, July and August are blackout dates. All except the last week of August. We started looking around at different parks, because as you know, that's what we do.
Be willing to eat in the Roller Coaster Park. Many are getting healthy options, which I think is great. the healthy options are not only better for you, but have you ever been on a roller coaster after eating french fries and fried chicken strips??? Seriously, choose the salad.
When we first started we had very little money in order to make this happen. Unfortunately for our family my husband traveled to the Bay Area a lot. Fortunately for our family we had lots of frequent flier miles.
We live in Portland, Oregon. So for starters we try to hit all the parks that are on the West Coast. Airfare money saver tip: Airfare is the more affordable traveling the west coast for us, than flying across country. And because of the short flights we get the most out of our days. If we leave in the morning, there is a great chance we will hit the park that afternoon or evening, adding one more visit to our trip. Let me back up a few years and let you know how we have done this, and mostly why, we continue to do this.
