There were a few things that I had somehow missed when I was reading up on our vacation. First off I guess we were not allowed to wear shorts into some of the dining rooms. We went to the Italian place and it said on a sign out front no shorts or flip flops allowed. Well we were not prepared for anything else, we had brought nothing but shorts for the guys and my daughter and I had capris. So we entered with our shorts and flip flops, although we looked nice. There were people that were not dressed nice at all and no one was turned away. So if you want to take extra clothes for some dinners go ahead, but it was never required.
We were greeted at the El Cid with drinks, which was nice and the kids could not believe it. From that moment on they decided they wanted to stay forever.
Our room was fine. There are pictures on the web that make it look much more luxurious that it really was. But it was fine for us. We chose the most inexpensive room you could purchase and we were very pleased. We had a view out of our room that was spectacular.
What a great trip! We really enjoyed out experience with Vacations To Go . They sent us all the info through email, but were also available by phone and we were able to talk with our guy directly and ask questions at any time. GREAT experience. We will definitely use them again.
I still have a few things left to buy for our early Christmas celebration and we have a few events left before we leave, but we are snowed in. I can either be stressed and try and figure it all out or just go with the flow. I am enjoying the snow and going with the flow. The good news is in 6 days we will be in 84 degree weather and I can't wait!!
So I was going over my stuff. We booked this trip back in March and have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to even think about all that we are going to be doing. So today I got online to reaquaint myself with the trip we have planned, specifically the dining.
I am looking through all these different aspects of the motel so I can see what I am in for and then come home and write a review.
So this motel is modern, Spanish style hotel includes 500 rooms and suites. Chose between low-rise units with pool views or an ocean-view room in our 17-floor tower above Mexico’s largest swimming pool.
I just went out today to Marshalls clothing store. They have their summer stuff on clearance and it is marked down really low. I tried on a pair of shorts that were only $3 and ended up buying a pair of capris for only $7. Can't beat that, and now I have something new for Mexico. I was just assuming I would break out all the usuals that I wear during the summer. I would have never thought summer clearance would still be available.
The countdown has begun for our trip to Mazatlan for Christmas. As of today we have 17 days before we board a plane. Still so much to do. But one thing I always do before I leave on any trip is check out an good local eats. If you have read any of my past posts you know I always look for food. I already have a great suggestion from a friend and I am looking forward to trying out this restaurant. Its' called Casa Loma.
Last year for Christmas we did something really different, we went to Sunriver, which is in Central Oregon. It was perfect for Christmas with all the snow and lights and full moon.
