How about the Beaches of Hawaii?

We all know the economy is bad everywhere, but at the same time we can take advantage of this. I have heard that things in Hawaii are really cheap right now. I have a shirt tale relative just tell me they booked a place through VRVO.com. They had used it once before loved it and are now using the service again.

Back from Reno, Nevada
I don't know that I would choose Reno as a destination for a vacation, but we did have fun. The whole reason for going down was our friends had a special doctor appointment, so we just decided to make a trip out of it. We all had fun, but we all agreed we wouldn't rush back, it's just not our things. But nonetheless we came away with tips to help you plan your trip if that is something you are interested in.

Mazatlan, Mexico
The countdown has begun for our trip to Mazatlan for Christmas. As of today we have 17 days before we board a plane. Still so much to do. But one thing I always do before I leave on any trip is check out an good local eats. If you have read any of my past posts you know I always look for food. I already have a great suggestion from a friend and I am looking forward to trying out this restaurant. Its' called Casa Loma.

Eating Good around Cedar Point
Food. That always becomes the source of concern when we travel. We don't like fast food, deep fried food or just plain unhealthy food, so we have to search, and search we do. Before I left I had spent time on the web trying to find some really good places for us. We don't normally like chain restaurants because they lack good quality taste and they lack nutrition. The first day we were having such a good time in the park we decided to try something just outside the gates and hopefully not too heavy. Heavy never works when you are riding rides all day long. We ended up at Famous Daves, which we didn't know at the time was a chain restaurant. I ordered a salad, which wasn't bad, it was all ice berg lettuce (see I'm even a salad snob) and it had a BBQ dressing on it that I was not real fond of. But since it was a BBQ restaurant that is what they had. Everyone else got hamburgers and fries. The Hamburgers were greasy and the BBQ sauce was real thick. I don't think anyone finished their meals. The kids each got pops and we had water. The meal cost us $48.00. It was a huge disappointment.

Cedar Point Hotel Breakers Review
Our trip again this year was amazing. We have found that going at the end of August we have not had to deal with humidity, and that is really nice. We did notice this year that the park was much fuller than it was last year at this time. The staff at the resorts weren't sure why either, but it still was way less than going in July.

Cedar Point Resort Reservation
We booked our Cedar Point Resort Hotel. Here is what we ended up with. This is a room in the Bon Air section of the motel. We stayed here last year. We had the opportunity to go inside one of the end rooms and my husband said if we ever come back we are staying here. Well, I had to book it. These rooms sleep 6. It has a small fridge and a coffee maker. It will cost us $189 a night. Compare that to the same room in July and it would cost $240. The weekend even higher. So check dates. They are cheaper earlier in the season and later in the season. The ro

Finalizing One…Getting Ready for Another
I am almost finished finalizing the details for our Cedar Point trip that we are taking in August. I spent the day on the web checking out motels, rates, certain rooms and most importantly rental car hours.
Let me start with Rental Cars. My husband has an account with Avis and prefers them. I prefer Enterprise because they take you back to the airport instead of making you ride the shuttle bus and they give you bottled water to take with you. But the problem came when we had a very late arrival into Cleveland. We won't be picking up our car until midnight. Turns out Read more on Finalizing One…Getting Ready for Another…

We Booked It!!!
We booked it. How could we not?? When we went to book the room the rates came down just a little bit, down to $107 a night and we even got the Executive Suite. Basically that means we get a safe and robes.

So here we go again. This is just how these things play out.
I am not even sure where I was looking, but saw that Great America has a new ride that opens this year. We love this park, we have gone nearly every year in the last 7 years, although we missed last year. And now they have a new ride!!!! We have to go back!! I found airfare for $167 round trip from Portland. Read more on Alright…There is Something Wrong With Me…
