Cedar Point Hotel Breakers Review

Our trip again this year was amazing.  We have found that going at the end of August we have not had to deal with humidity, and that is really nice.  We did notice this year that the park was much fuller than it was last year at this time.  The staff at the resorts weren't sure why either, but it still was way less than going in July.

As always we pack snacks to take in the park.  We didn't take as much as we have in the past because we were staying on the property again this year.  We stayed at the Hotel Breakers in one of the round rooms at the end of the hall.  It has a beautiful view of the lake and the beach if you are up early enough even the sunrise.  The room we stayed in will sleep up to 6 people and it's very roomy.  We also loved it because it is so close the the park entrance.  It's like a 2-3 minute walk.  When I booked the room we booked it for Tuesday-Saturday.  We weren't sure if we would stay the whole time, and we knew if we left we would go off the property to Breakers Express and still be part of the resort, it's just tons cheaper off the property.  The room during the week was $189 a night (before taxes).  On the weekends it goes up to $239 a night.  It's expensive, but the same room throughout the summer and before August 19th is $300 a night.  Big question…is the room worth it?   We all said "NO"!  It's a gross room.  It stinks, it's ugly, the beds are horrible, there is wall paper coming off the walls in the bathrooms, and the bathrooms are so gross you lay down towels just to walk on it.  The building was built in the early 1900's, so it's really cool, but it's like the tried to redecorate in the 70's, 80's maybe even the 90's and then just gave up.  And it has not been done since.  BUT it is so close to the entrance that we seem to try and deal with it.  There is a newer part to this building and that might be worth checking into.  We were in the Bon Aire wing.
