Sunriver Oregon

We just got back from Sunriver Oregon. For those of you that have never been, it's a place you need to add to your list. The summer is so fun. There are so many bike trails, a villiage that has restaurants and shops and putt putt golf.

The place we stayed was on the Dechutes River. You can rent canoes, boats or kayaks and float down the river. It's very mellow and slow in this area. We didn't choose to that this time, but we sat on the banks of the river enjoying the beautiful scenery and watched the boats go by.

We did go hike through the Lava Caves. It's about a 1/4 mile outside of Sunriver. You have to have a day pass, which was $5 and if you want you can rent a latern, which we did, for $3. We had flashlights, but it's so dark you need something much brighter. It took us an hour and half to go through. We even went to the end where you have to crawl on your hands and knees.

They also have a 2 pools. We went to the large South pool and had a great time. Our kids really like the slide.

We tried out a new restaurant while we were there. www.boondocksrestaurant.com/. It was so good. We wanted to try a bunch of stuff so my husband and I shared. We also went with friends so we shared appetizers as well. We got the filet with roasted garlic and a side of scallops. It was really good. I would definately go back. The best part was the beer. They had a apricot heffewiezen. WOW! Let's just say it was so good I had 3 of them.
