Tip #4 In The Roller Coaster Park

The other thing that we do is we all wear good running shoes. Yes, that right, if you want to keep up with our family you need to be in shape (somewhat) and willing to run. Not only for the tons of running, but we usually spend the whole day there and you need to have great support. You can read on about my 13 year old daughter that decided to wear her “cute” shoes. Ask her what she is wearing this next time we go.
When your 13, it’s hard to look cute in an amusement park. My parents insisted I wear my chunky, ugly running shoes when I had just gotten an adorable pair of black converse that I had even colored on to look even cuter! So I thought about it… Running shoes, over adorable converse? When you go anywhere on vacation, there is always going to be adorable boys, so I decided to look cute and wear my converse. I swear I will never choose cute over comfy again. As soon as the park opens we always run to the most popular rides, to beat the crowds and get in a good front row seat on the roller coasters. After that ride we would run to the next, then the next, beating the crowds and long lines every time. It was fine the first days but as you know converse are flat and don't have a lot of support. So a few days past and my heals began to kill me. Pretty soon I was limping around the park and barely making it from ride to ride. Occasionally, my dad would carry me on his back to get to a good ride. We finally went to the store after a long day of running, and my feet were so sore I rode in the shopping cart throughout Walmart. It was quite a site to see a 13 year old girl riding in a cart. We got some really cheap heal supports which helped a little and I had to ice my heals every night. Needless to say, lesson learned.
